crazy winter
I,m so excited for spring, it's been a long winter so far. We were snowed in for five days WOW!! We finally got a break in the weather, the snow is all melted. It was a great opportunity
to get things cleaned up. I have to admit I was little over whelmed with all the manure that needed cleaned up after the blizzard we had here. God is so good, I was praying for help and a lady { Kim} called just when the weather broke. She had got in some trouble and had to do community service, so she had heard about the ranch and they approved her to come help.
She was a God sent she know's horses and how to do all the chores that go along with it, plus
getting the ground ready for a nice arena. Things are starting to happen I have more people stepping up, wanting to help. We have a lot of exciting things to accomplish before spring, best of all kids and adults wanting to come out to help, ride and love on the horses.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which GOD has called me heavenward in
Christ Jesus : Philippians 3:14 we ask for pray that we can get monthly sponsors
to help meet are needs for the horses and accomplish are building projects
GOD BLESS

A New Arrival At The Ranch
It's been a great adventure in 2010. We took in a total of five new horses, what a blessing for the ranch. The horses each have their own personalities. The children, plus adults have their favorite. Now we have been blessed in 2011 with a paint named Smokey, she was donated to the ranch through the Trail busters. Their a great group of ladies that ride the trails all over ILIL, IA, and MO. We meet every December for a yearly Christmas party to reflect on the trails we have rode and where we are going to ride next year. At this past party, Tabby was trying to find a good home for her 21 year old paint mare. Cindy makes a deal with Tabby secretly and next thing I know the ranch has a new arrival for 2011. SMOKEY!! Cindy, Mary Lee, and Tabby traveled 2 hours and arrived here safely with her. Smokey has settled in very well today at her new home, I think she's very happy . Smokeys' going to be a great addition to the ranch, what a sweet and beautiful horse. In closing I just want to thank GOD for all he's doing. The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. [Psalm 19:1]

Holiday Open House
On the evening of November 4th I set up a booth in Kahoka, MO at the Senior Citizens Center for Son Valley Youth Ranch. I had a few of the SVYR kids with me helping out, and it went very well! I set up the booth hoping to get the word out and inform some more local people about Son Valley, and I did just that! It went very well, and I was happy to see that there were very many people interested in the ranch!
Son Valley Bake Sale
Hi everyone! Just wanted to give you an update on our bake sale that we had outside of Wal-Mart on the October 23. It was a success! We raised $435 dollars for Son Valley Youth Ranch!!!

Here's almost all of our Son Valley kids! (And a couple of us bigger kids!) We are all sporting our new SVYR shirts. If anyone is interested in getting a t-shirt, long-sleeve shirt, or a sweatshirt, let me know. They're available for all to order!
Even though we had a very wonderful and productive day, it didn't start out that way! Rain was in the forecast, but we kept our spirits high! Luckily, my good friend Mary from the church donated, and helped me set up, a tent for the bake sale. The rain came that morning, as predicted, but we set up the tent anyways because I knew that this was going to be a great day for Son Valley. Lexi, one of our SVYR kids, prayed with me in hopes to clear the rain. Our prayers were answered! The rain and cloudy skies cleared within the hour, and our bakesale was up and running! We had many people involved with Son Valley donate baked goods, so we had quite a variety to offer. We had the kids of Son Valley along with us to help sell and raise money for the ranch. They had a few stick ponies that they rode out in front of our stand, and I have to say they definitely caught some eyes for us! It was great to have the kids involved when we do events for Son Valley, because they're what it's all about!
To all who donated and bought baked goods, thank you! We not only had people buy our goods, but we also had people just donate money, and we had a lot of, "Keep the change." God was good! We are looking forward to more successful events in the future, and we hope to see many there!

October Fundraisers
Hi all! I wanted to update you on a few upcoming fundraisers for Son Valley! We have a couple things that we need to raise money for around the ranch. A major expense for Son Valley is insurance. We also have other needs such as a tack room, more shelter for the horses, and an outdoor arena, so I have put together a couple things in the month of October to help raise money.
On October 23rd, we are having a bake sale at Wal-Mart in Keokuk, IA. The kids of Son Valley and I will be out front from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM! We will have many different baked goods, so stop by and help support the cause!
We also are having a trail ride on October 30th at Weinberg State Park in Augusta, IL. The ride will start at 10:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM. I will have our new Son Valley shirts available, and we will then have a tasty chili lunch and will continue to ride all afternoon! We would love for all that are available to come and join us! Also, anyone is more than welcome to come on October 29th and camp out!
I hope to see many familiar as well as new faces at these upcoming events!
